Trip to Cheyenne

Since the kids had UEA and Colby hasn't been able to come home, we made plans to go up and see him.  I was kind of scared of the drive, it is a long way's to go with 4 kids, but we rented a van and did great.

We left early on Thursday morning and drove pretty much straight there.  We were going to go check into our hotel and get cleaned up, but we were way to excited to see him. 

We pulled up to the hospital and called him and told him we were in the parking lot.

We then went and got checked in and played around a while.

That night we all had to fight for his attention.  After dinner he even took the kids to a late night movie.

The next day we drove through Fort Collins Colorado and went to a town called Estes Park. It is kind of like a little Park City, and boarders Rock Mountain State Park. 

We rented a cute little cabin to stay in.

We knew the park had tons of elk, but we didn't expected to see them all over town and right outside our door, and right next to our pool.

The next day we went into town and walked the streets.  The town had cute little tourist shops just like the little towns in Alaska. 

Everyone who know Colby knows he has a sweet tooth and is always buying treats.

We went back into Rocky Mountain State Park.  We saw so many elk, and they were so used to people, it kind of took some of the fun out of it.

We went on a few hikes.  

We spent another night in a different cabin.  The next day we did a little shopping at some outlets before heading back to Wyoming. 

We celebrated Hanks birthday that day, because it was the day before his real birthday and we would be heading home.  We went bowling, he got presents and got to pick where we had dinner that night. 

We spend that night in a hotel back in Cheyenne just relaxing. 

We mostly just loved being around Colby.  Poor guy never had a minute to himself, someone was always cuddling up next to him.  It was hard when we left the next morning.  Colby had to be to work and we needed to get on the road.  Driving home sure wasn't as fun as driving there.  Not much to look forward to. 

But we are grateful we got to be together.
